Gem Quality Ceylon Sapphire
A 1.64 carat round modified brilliant cut untreated sapphire from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) that exemplifies what a Ceylon sapphire should be. The sapphire measures 6.48 to 6.56 mm in diameter, or the size of a 1 carat diamond, by 4.35 mm in depth.
The sapphires quality is: Hue- very slightly purplish Blue, Saturation- 4 (Ideal for a Ceylon), tone- 3(Again Ideal), Inclusion Free (Flawless) to the naked eye, and excellent polish and proportions. When viewed under a gemscope at high magnification, there are small intact crystals and distinct color banding, indicating that it is untreated. Sapphires are routinely heated to high temperatures to make unmarketable stones saleable.

7.66 carat Natural Canary Yellow Sapphire
We obtained this great 7.66 carat natural yellow emerald cut sapphire from the estate of a gem collector. This sapphire is from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) and measures 14.22 mm in length by 9.33 mm in width by 5.71 mm in depth.
The gemstone's quality is; Hue- very slightly greenish Yellow (Chartreuse- very cool), Saturation- 3 (Medium- dark enough but still able to really sparkle), Tone- 2, very lightly included to the naked eye, and excellent polish and proportions.
There are small groups of silk inclusions and small intact crystals visible at high magnifications under a gemscope and distinct color zoning indicating that this sapphire is untreated. Almost all sapphires are enhanced by high heat treatments that change the color and or clarity of sapphire; untreated sapphires are rare and much more valuable.
This sapphire has a real sparkle that usually reserved for "canary" diamonds, and has a light green secondary color in sunlight that makes this an outstanding and rare find.

Padparadscha Sapphire
This is an exquisite example of a gem quality 1.90 carat padparadscha sapphire. The sapphire is cut in an antique cushion cut that has been modified to maximize the color and brilliance by a Master Gem Cutter and measures 7.80 mm (5/16th inch) square.
The color is the ideal vivid medium pinkish orange hue and is flawless to the naked eye and has excellent cut and polish. There is no evidence of heat treatment nor any other enhancements that are commonly seen in today's marketplace, making this an exceptional find.
